Teams take part in hardwood tournaments this week

All seven local schools are taking advantage of the first of three major basketball tournament weeks of the season.The Kingfisher High School girls are traveling to Cleveland to defend their title in that tournament beginning Thursday.

All six Hennessey High School seniors were recognized when District 2A-1 football honors were announced.The all-district teams and awards were voted on by the district’s coaches.Among the honors was named Seth Simunek the offensive most valuable player.

Okarche knocked down 10 3-pointers Tuesday in winning its fourth straight game.Hunter Mueggenborg, Wyatt Pinkerton and Jett Mueggenborg made three treys apiece in the Warriors’ 76-30 home win over Coyle.Ranked sixth in Class A, Okarche improved to 4-1 with the victory.

Dover girls beat Waukomis for fifirst ‘signature’ victory
