Perry dominated the largest weight classes to earn a dual comeback win Tuesday and spoil Kingfisher High School’s wrestling homecoming.The Maroons got three falls and a tech fall in the final four matches to turn what was a 13-point deficit into a 41-31 victory over the Jackets at Heritage Gym.

Waukomis tops Dover in Skeltur title game

Dover can still accomplish a lot this season.An undefeated record won’t be among them.That potential was dashed by Waukomis last Friday as the Chiefs toppled the Longhorns 55-39 in the finals of the Skeltur Conference Tournament at Pioneer.The defeat was Dover’s first as it fell to 20-1.

Lomega girls win big Skordle Festival showdown

One of the most anticipated games of the Skordle Festival lived up to its hype.Lomega surrendered a big lead, then outplayed Riverside down the stretch on Friday to pull out a 7874 victory at Hennessey’s Eagle Event Center.

Abbie Myers already had a fantastic night on the basketball court.Her final play Friday night made it epic.The Kingfisher senior drained a runner as time expired to lift the Lady Jackets to a thrilling 51-49 overtime victory over Destiny Christian at the APB.

County schools stay (mostly) close to home

Kingfisher County has three No. 1-ranked teams in Classes B-II and A.As a result, those teams are being rewarded with most of their basketball playoffs at home - or close to home.The OSSAA on Saturday released the basketball playoff assignments for the three smallest classes: A, B-I and B-II.
