Wednesday offered another scoring milestone for Jett Mueggenborg.Another major one is in sight.Most importantly, Okarche kept its perfect Three Rivers Conference record intact with a 96-48 victory over visiting Crescent.The Warriors improved to 17-3 overall and 6-0 in conference games.

Brett Tahah said it looked like her team hadn’t played or practiced in about a week.For good reason. Playing for the first time in eight days, Okarche put the defensive clamps on Crescent in a 41-22 victory at home.

Some things change.Others remain the same. There were a ton of changes to the schedule of the 2026 Buckle of the Wheatbelt Invitational.It started early. Teams couldn’t show up. JV teams were thrown in the mix. More teams couldn’t show up other days. Games were moved. Games were canceled.

The Kingfisher boys basketball team has tasted defeat’s worst kind of agony in two straight games.The Jackets were defeated 61-59 by Woodward on Wednesday night in the third-place game of the Buckle of the Wheatbelt Invitational at the APB.

Not even Mother Nature can stop the Lomega girls from the Cherokee Strip Conference Tournament championship.The Lady Raiders beat the weather and thumped Medford 79-52 last Friday morning to claim the tournament title at Pioneer- Pleasant Vale High School.

More than a week after it started, the Buckle of the Wheatbelt Invitational basketball tournament concludes Wednesday in Kingfisher.The tournament was originally scheduled for Jan. 22-24, but was moved up a day due to the projected weather that was going to hit the state.

The Deer Creek-Lamont Eagles kept their place atop the Cherokee Strip Conference Tournament.Class B-II’s third-ranked team used a dominant third quarter to pull away from Lomega for a 71-46 victory in the title game last Friday morning at Pioneer-Pleasant Vale High School.
