KHS girls facing long road to state

A long week got a little bit longer for Kingfisher.The Lady Jackets were faced with the task of winning five games in six days if they were going to make their first trip to the state tournament since 2009.

Kingfisher’s Gant Browning dropped his lone match at the state wrestling tournament.The sophomore was downed 8-2 by Vinita’s Mark Webb in their wrestle-in match in the 113-pound bracket in Class 3A.

Weather forces multiple changes for playoff basketball schedules

The weather event that forced the initial postponement of playoff basketball and wrestling events forced the games to be pushed back even further.Originally, area tournament games for Class A and B and the regional games for Classes 2A-4A were slated last Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
