Kingfisher Golf Course just got a little bit longer. Members of the Kingfisher Golf Association board of directors as well club manager Gary Wilson christened two brand new greens last Friday. The greens are on the par-3 seventh and par-4 eighth and have been under construction since last fall.

Tristun Burnham has his first official win of his high school career. The Kingfisher High School sophomore on Thursday shot a 1-overpar 71 at Cedar Valley Golf Club’s International course. The medalist performance came in the 11th annual John Marshall Golf Tournament.

Kingfisher’s boys swept their opponents Tuesday in the 2021 tennis season opener. KHS won all four boys matches while Chisholm won six of the seven girls matches in a duel at Shaw Park. Maverick Ridenour and Nathan Smalley took care of singles wins for the Jackets.

Aaron DeLaTorre got the best of Cordell yet again. The Kingfisher sophomore scored five goals last Saturday as the Jackets beat Cordell 12-2 in the final game of the Eagle Classic soccer tournament in Weatherford.

Another district sweep is in the bag for the Kingfisher baseball team. The Jackets beat Purcell 9-0 on Monday at Homier Field, then brought home an 8-3 victory on Tuesday. KHS is 6-0 in District 4A-1 games thus far.

Tuttle’s record remained unblemished last Saturday when it handed Kingfisher a 5-2 defeat in the championship game of the I-40 Classic in Weatherford.

Coming off yet another unbeaten season in conference play, Kingfisher High School saw four players land all-conference honors. Bijan Cortes is the repeat winner of the Western Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player Award after a vote of the coaches.
