Second win easy; third will have to wait

Lomega picked up another blowout win last week and it might be the last one for a while. The Lady Raiders disposed of visiting Drummond 93-32 on Tuesday as five players scored in double figures. It improved the team to 2-0, but the third win likely won’t come until December.

OSSAA announces football playoff pairings all local teams in

The OSSAA announced 2020 playoff pairings for football on Sunday. The association earlier this fall instituted a plan that allowed every team to advance to the playoffs in light of not every team getting to play the same amount of district games. The move is good only for 2020.

Okarche escapes Preston in OT in Mitchel’s debut as head coach

When Okarche was in tight games before, Haley Mitchel would look over to her mother for the final say. That final say now belongs to Mitchel. She was thrown into the fire Friday night in her debut as head coach of the Okarche Lady Warriors. And, like so many times before, they came out on top.

Picking right up where they left off

Lomega’s almost unfair amount of depth was on display as it began defense of its most recent state title. The Lady Raiders made 15 3-pointers, had four scorers in double figures and even let off the gas a little in their 97-47 victory against Dover on homecoming night.

Luther too much for Hennessey

Luther scored with its offense and special teams while its defense forced three turnovers as Hennessey dropped its regular-season finale. The Eagles scored last, but the Lions scored much more often in their 52-6 road win. Hennessey enters the playoffs with a 3-5 overall record.

Cashion’s perfect trifecta

Cashion completed its run to a third consecutive undefeated regular season last Friday with a 55-7 dismantling of rival Crescent in the annual War on 74. The Wildcats are 10-0 for the third straight year and haven’ t lost a regular-season game since Oct. 6, 2017... against Crescent.

KHS storms through Anadarko

How would Kingfisher respond to its worst loss of the season? With, perhaps, its best performance of the season. Kingfisher secured a pair of home playoff games Friday by out-gunning Anadarko 42-22 on the road to wrap up it regular season.

Dominant second half spurs Dover boys to win

Dover switched to a zone and Joriaun Caldwell was in a scoring zone as the Longhorns opened their season with a win. Caldwell scored 30 points Tuesday as Dover went on the road to defeat Cimarron 50-30. Tied at the half, the Longhorns surrendered just 10 second-half points.
