As far back as she can remember, Olivia Wilcox has wanted to play collegiate softball. She took the next big step in that direction on Wednesday. Wilcox signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her softball career at Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City.

Crescent notches victory over Hinton

Crescent had to wait a couple of extra days, but still put together another methodical victory. The Tigers defeated Hinton 24-6 on Monday to improve to 7-1 entering the season’s final week.

Basketball season begins this week for county teams

Softball season has ended. Cross country comes to a close this week. Football season is nearing the playoffs. All of that, plus November’s arrival, means it’s time for winter sports. The first to begin is basketball and for Classes A and B, they can begin high school games this week.

KHS softball players earn all-district

Two Kingfisher softball players earned all-district honors and three more were honorable mention after a vote by coaches last week. District 4A-1 first-team honors were awarded to senior Mia Farrell and Olivia Wilcox. Farrell was named as an outfielder and Wilcox as a pitcher.

Zoey Evans was mentally gearing up to run the final race of her high school career over the weekend. Now she’ll have to slow those gears down for a few more days.

Ball hog Hennessey wins 2nd straight

Earlier this season, Hennessey got its first win in almost two years. Now the Eagles have their first official win streak since 2017. With the exception of two plays, Hennessey dominated Alva in every aspect of the game last Friday and left town with a 17-14 victory.
