Kingfisher Little League has a second team headed to an OK Kids state tournament this summer. The Kingfisher Blue Sox won their coach pitch regional last weekend in Woodward to advance to this week’s state tournament in Clinton.

Cashion High School cheerleaders recently attended Jeff and Craig Cheer Camp held June 7-9 in Norman. The group received multiple awards, including as Dynamite Sticks, Champions Cup, Top Team Motions and performance awards.

Hopkins signs with ESU

One of Kingfisher’s former All-State baseball players has at least two more years to go in his career. Matt Hopkins recently signed to play baseball at Emporia State University in Kansas. He recently completed a two-year stint at Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kan.

Smash headed to state

The Fourth of July is for fireworks. The fifth is for t-ball... at least for the Kingfisher Smash. The collection of Kingfisher youth punched their ticket to the OK Kids state t-ball tournament with last Saturday’s regional championship.

Former Pokes QB, pro baseball player Fields in business here

A former Oklahoma State quarterback and professional baseball player is now working in Kingfisher as a State Farm agent. Josh Fields spoke to the Kingfisher Lions Club last Thursday after recently becoming a part of the Kingfisher community. Fields works with his wife and they have three children.

Myers claims OGA Stroke Play crown

Oddly enough, a hole in which he double bogeyed might have been just the one that won Kingfisher’s Heath Myers the Oklahoma Golf Association Stroke Play Championship last week.
