Cashion wins baseball district

Cashion surrendered just one run in three games last week to lay claim to a district baseball championship. The ninth-ranked Wildcats swept through Ring-wood and then Union City twice at home to cruise to the Class A district crown and advance to this week’s regional.

Stephenson returns to reset high jump record

When she woke up last Friday morning, Ally Stephenson didn’t even know if she would compete. When she went to bed Friday night, she had yet another school record in her possession.

Loosen finding her form

Madeline Loosen wouldn’t trade her senior cross country season for anything, but she admittedly wasn’t at her peak when it ended. Loosen finished 14th in the Class 4A race, but her time was about 13 seconds slower than the year before when she was fifth overall.

Golfers tackle Lincoln West for 36 holes

Kingfisher golfers - most of them, anyway - got another dose of a 36-hole day at Wednesday’s Edmond North Invitational. KHS shot a 676 in the mostly large-school tournament held at Lincoln Park West in Oklahoma City.

Loosen, York lead KHS at CV conference meet

Madeline Loosen won a pair of gold medals and placed in two other events to help highlight Kingfisher’s showing at the Canadian Valley Conference Track and Field Meet last week. Loosen won the 800 and was part of the winning 3,200 meter relay team.

IRON FIVE - The Oklahoma Eagles Elite basketball team played in the Adidas Gauntlet National Qualifying Tournament last weekend in Indianapolis, Ind., against strong competition from several states.

Kamas is conference golf champ

Purcell won the team championship, but it was Maddi Kamas crowned the individual champ Wednesday at the Canadian Valley Conference Girls Golf Tournament. Kamas shot a 78 to beat Purcell’s Jade McCurdy by three strokes at Brent Bruehl Memorial Golf Course, McCurdy’s home course.

With a state championship and the most talented team in school history come a plethora of individual awards and postseason honors. That’s the case for the Kingfisher High School boys basketball team and coaches.

CCS beats KHS girls, helps them out later

Crossings Christian School didn’t do Kingfisher any favors Tuesday, but did on Thursday. The Knights defeated KHS 2-0 in a District 4A-2 game Tuesday night in Kingfisher to put the Lady Jackets’ postseason hopes in peril.
