This weekend marks the biggest tournament week of the basketball season and all but one area school will be taking part. Kingfisher will be hosting the Buckle of the Wheat-belt Invitational for the 17th straight year.
The joy of Cash-ion’s first-ever conference tournament championship ended on Tuesday night.
The Wildcats dug themselves a massive hole, got out of it, but faltered late in a 61-60 loss at Seiling.
It wasn’t the same blowout as earlier this month, but Kingfisher’s girls basketball team still picked up a comfortable win.
Despite missing a starter, the Lady Jackets dealt Chickasha a 49-30 defeat at the APB, giving the team its first home win of the season.
The second Will Dunigan clinched with Stone Snodgrass for the first time, Snodgrass knew he was in trouble.
“He was strong,” said Snodgrass. “As soon as he grabbed hold of me, I knew I would probably have to out-move him.
Three Lady Raiders scored in double figures and helped ensure Lomega wouldn’t begin a losing streak.
Class B’s second-ranked team bounced back from last weekend’s loss to No. 1 Hammon by throttling Cherokee 73-46 at home.
