Soccer squads sweep district games

Kingfisher stayed unbeaten in district action with a mercy rule win Tuesday and has its eyes set on a bigger matchup this weekend.KHS downed Millwood 10-0 at home to improve to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in District 3A-2 games.

It was an almost perfect day for golf and the scores backed it up.Ten golfers shot under- par and the tournament scoring record went down Wednesday at the Kingfi sher Large School Boys Invitational.Ben Lathrop of Heritage Hall shot an 8-under-par 62 to capture medalist honors.

4 county players are OGBCA academic all-state selections

Raegan Snider isn’t just an all-state basketball on the court, but in the classroom as well. The Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association recently announced its 2025 academic all-state selections.Four Kingfisher County seniors were among them, including Kingfisher’s Snider.

Dover’s Conrady signs with Sterling College

Dover senior Lucas Conrady signed Monday to continue his basketball career. Conrady will play for Sterling College in Sterling, Kan. Among those at the ceremony held at the high school were family, classmates, teammates and others.

Ladwig leads Eagles to 3rd place

Ripley’s Elijah Schatz missed a short par putt on a playoff hole that allowed Zach Horry to win the individual championship of the Dover Small School Boys Invitational golf tournament.The margin of the team title wasn’t as close Monday for Horry and his Amber- Pocasset teammates.

Perkins tops field at KHS tournament

Wood, Ladwig have strong showings at Hefner

Dover’s Sam Wood and Hennessey’s Taylor Ladwig were two of the best in a crowded field last Tuesday in the 2025 Broncho Invitational held at Lake Hefner Golf Club’s South Course.Both Ladwig and Wood shot 4-over-par 74s and finished tied for fifth in a tournament that featured 123 golfers.

KHS gets first district victory

That first district win is elusive no more for the Kingfisher High School baseball team.Behind a pitching gem from Cooper Henley - and solid defense behind him - the Jackets went on the road Tuesday to grab a 7-1 victory against Woodward.
