Jackets put in extra work to top Elks

Elijah Click’s save in the third round of penalty kicks secured a momentous win for the Kingfisher High School boys soccer team.The senior keeper’s stop gave KHS a 1-0 victory over Elk City in the third place game of the Jim Loomis Invitational Saturday in Weatherford.

Lomega’s search for its next boys basketball coach is ongoing, but Superintendent Cory Wilson said he hopes to have the process wrapped up soon.Wilson is seeking a replacement for Justin Edsall, who resigned the position earlier this month after completing his 14th season.

Four Kingfisher County seniors were selected to the honor of Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-State.Picked last week after a round of tryouts were Abbie Myers and Reese Roof of Kingfisher High School and Aliana Lawson and Hadley Ott of Lomega High School.

Pugh named to OGBCA Hall of Fame

Former Cashion coach Totsy Pugh is among the group announced as the 2026 class of the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.The announcement was made last week when the OGBCA also released its 2026 All-State selections.

Lady Jackets are Loomis consolation champs

Kingfisher bounced back from a quarterfinal loss to claim two straight wins for the girls consolation championship at the Jim Loomis Invitational soccer tournament on Saturday.It culminated Saturday with a 6-1 win over Weatherford JV in the fifth-place game.

Jackets pick up all-WAC honors

Three Kingfisher High School players were named all-conference and two more earned honorable mention last week as the Western Athletic Conference revealed its boys basketball selections.Voted by coaches to the first team was Hayes White.

Girls golfers win season’s 1st outing
