New foes for season opener

Kingfisher High School opens its basketball season at home this Tuesday, Dec. 3.However, it’s a different opponent than originally scheduled.KHS will host Merritt as the girls tip off at 6:30 p.m. and the boys at approximately 8 p.m.

8 Eagles snag all-district honors

Eight members of the Hennessey High School football team grabbed 2A-1 All-District honors this week.Six of the honorees were named to the first team.That includes five who were named the players of the year at their respective position.

Lomega grabs pair of wins in first visit to new Burlington gymnasium

Burlington has a shiny new gym this basketball season.Lomega tried to take some of the shine off with its visit last Friday night.The Lady Raiders stayed unbeaten while the Lomega boys snapped a three-game losing streak in sweeping Burlington in Cherokee Strip Conference games.

Visit to Geary results in sweep for Okarche basketball teams

Defensive clamps were put on Geary last week as Okarche grabbed its second win of the season.The Lady Warriors forced more than two dozen turnovers Friday as they beat Geary 62-27 on the road.Okarche enters the Thanksgiving break with a 2-1 mark and returns to action Tuesday at home against Coyle.

Pawnee powers past Cashion 40-13 in Class A quarterfinals

Pawnee ran into the state semifinals last Friday by ending Cashion’s season in a 40-13 quarterfinal victory.Playing on their home field, the Black Bears ran for 412 yards and didn’t attempt a single pass in winning for the ninth straight time.Cashion’s season ended with an 8-4 record.

Lomega splits with Calumet

Lomega stayed unbeaten - and untested - last Tuesday by downing Calumet 78-29 on the road.The Lady Raiders are 4-0 and are winning games by an average of 42 points.This one trended in that direction early as the Lady Raiders were up 20-7 after a quarter and 40-13 by halftime.

Dover takes down Mulhall-Orlando before break

Dover will get a twoweek break before playing its next game, but enters this lull in the schedule with a three-game win streak.The Lady Longhorns moved to 3-2 last Tuesday by taking down Mulhall- Orlando 61-31 at home.
