Daniel Coughlan, right, took second place last Saturday in the Knights of Columbus State Hoop Shoot competition. A fifth grader at Kingfisher Upper Elementary School, Coughlan made 20 out of 25 shots at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guthrie.

Kingfisher High School held its first-ever soccer homecoming ceremonies last Friday just before the Lady Jackets and Jackets swept Alva in District 3A-2 contests. Prior to the girls’ game, seniors Diego Muñoz (1) and Jackie Rivera were announced as the homecoming king and queen.

Five Cashion High School seniors were recognized and celebrated Wednesday April 3 as they signed to continue their respective athletic careers at the collegiate level. The athletes are pictured seated in each photo along with family members who were among those in attendance.

Jael Torres isn’t quite finished representing the Hennessey High School boys basketball program.The Eagle senior last Friday was announced as a selection to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team.

Kennedy Hight got the most golds.Kingfisher got the most points…by a long shot.Hight won four gold medals in last Friday’s Cashion Relays, including edging Kingfisher standout Scout Snodgrass in a pair of races down the stretch.

Kingfisher girls were the runaway winners Tuesday in their own meet.The Lady Jackets scored 192 points to easily top a field of nine other teams at the Kingfi sher High School Invitational.Scout Snodgrass once again claimed four gold medals -three of them in relays.

Jett Mueggenborg already owned MVP of the state tournament.Now the Okarche High School sophomore has another award to add to his resume.Mueggenborg last week was voted most valuable player of the Three Rivers Conference.

Cale Reagan’s third-place showing paced a steady Kingfisher High School boys golf team as it won the Perkins- Tryon Tournament.Reagan shot a 4-over-par 76 and KHS shot 332 as a team Thursday at Cimarron Trails Golf Course.That score was four strokes better than runner- up Perry.
