Hennessey Farmerettes members recap county fair successes
The Hennessey Farmerettes started their Thursday, Sept. 10, meeting at Margie McConnell’s home by making flower and butterfly kits for the Hennessey Public Library’s reading program.Then several made flowers of their own.President Paula Nicholson presided.

Commission, Humes finalize contract
Jonah Humes’ selection as the next Kingfisher city manager became more official on Monday night.After more than 2 1/2 hours in executive session, Kingfisher city commissioners voted unanimously to approve Humes’ contract to succeed Jim Thomas.
Rain? Not enough. Damage? Too much.
Kingfisher County finally got some of the rain it so desperately needed.But, once again, it came at a cost.Varying amounts of moisture – up to .7 inch – fell early Saturday evening (see related story in this edition), but also brought with them damaging winds.

Portion of Calumet Road to be closed for bridge replacement
Kingfisher County commissioners announced Monday a portion of County Road N2740 - also known as Calumet Blacktop - is closed for a bridge replacement.District 3 Commissioner Anthony Schwarz said crews will begin work as early as Wednesday.
Soon to be street legal?
City commissioner Jeff Wittrock said he talked to a couple who was new to Kingfisher.They like to golf and own a golf cart, but can’t store it at the Kingfisher Golf Course as there are no stalls left to rent.

County taking bids on District 2 shop work
Kingfisher County commissioners called for bids on five portions of the work involved in building a new District 2 shop in Hennessey during Monday’s weekly meeting.The bid notices require listing of combined labor and materials for the plumbing, HVAC, framing, electrical and concrete work.
