MRS. BUETTNER HONORED AT SHOWER FRIDAY

Mrs. Richard Buettner was honored with a pink and blue shower at the home of Mrs. Arthur Parham on Friday evening, Aug. 10. Mrs. Lorence Parham, Mrs. Herbert McMillan and Mrs. Lyle Wood were hostesses.The gifts were placed in a decorated baby basket, with a stork standing over them.

Last week the temperature here reached 112 degrees, and we felt sorry for our three local highway patrolmen as they sat in their automobiles, in wool uniforms.But those uniforms, and the little white Oklahoma-shapes on the side of their cars are two very important things.

CITY FACED AGAIN WITH SERIOUS WATER SHORTAGE

Brought on by the dry weather of the past two weeks, the water situation in Kingfisher is again becoming serious. Sunday night, only two feet of water remained in the reservoir north of town, and it became necessary Monday to again notify consumers to use it sparingly.
