School suspends teacher

A Kingfisher Public Schools teacher has been suspended for the remainder of the school year and will not be returning after discovery of what was termed “increased student conversation” by school officials.

Incumbent re-elected to Okarche board of ed

Jarrod Mueggenborg retained his seat on the Okarche Board of Education. Mueggenborg defeated Brian Joseph Mueggenborg 332-171 (66% to 34%) in last Tuesday’s election. The vote was spread across both Kingfisher and Canadian counties.

It was shaping up to be a typical game for Rayland Garner. Until it wasn’t. Garner had already scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in just 11 minutes for Friends University in its women’s college basketball game Jan. 28 at Saint Mary.

Ruhl, Hill win bids for city seats

One new commissioner will be seated at Monday’s meeting of the Kingfisher City Commission. Another will join him at the next. The April regular meeting will see the swearing in of Daniel Ruhl as he was victorious in last Tuesday’s election.

Traffic accidents

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department: February 21, 1:40 p.m. - At S.H. 33 and North 13th Street. Barry Reid, 66, Kingfi sher, driving a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer, was southbound on North 13th Street.

Hall mourns trooper’s death in Logan County accident
