Hall mourns trooper’s death in Logan County accident

Senator Chuck Hall, R-Perry, issued the following statement after a multi-vehicle crash on Wednesday claimed the life of a member of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol from Logan County, as well as two civilians. “This is an absolute tragedy for our state and for the local community.

Swart among RCC students to earn academic honors

Six students from Redlands Community College were recently honored at the state Capitol by the Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges and Phi Theta Kappa for their outstanding academic achievement, record in the classroom and leadership ability. Among them was one from Kingfisher.

Rotary Club hosts trio of KHS seniors

Three Kingfisher High School seniors were guests recently at a meeting of the Kingfisher Rotary Club. Joining the local civic group were David Owens, Abraham Prieto and Sydnie Toepfer. Owens is the son of Jason and Mandy Owens.

Kingfisher alums recently awarded OSU scholarships

Kingfisher students were honored by the Oklahoma State University Ferguson College of Agriculture with academic scholarship support for the 2026-2027 academic year. The scholarships were awarded at the 2026 Scholarship and Awards banquet, hosted by the Ferguson College on March 26.

4 county candidates are unopposed

There will be no local political races after last week’s filing period, but there will be a new county officer this year. Kingfisher County Treasurer Robin Rother is retiring in July and her chief deputy Kelly Majetic will be appointed by commissioners to finish the last year on her term.
