Okarche softball heats back up

Lawson Geheb pitched another shutout as Okarche got its first win over a ranked Class A softball opponent last Tuesday.
Geheb allowed just one hit in an 8-0 home win over Union City, which was ranked 15th in the class.
It was Okarche’s third straight win - all shutouts and seventh in its last nine games as it improved to 12-8 on the season.
Geheb struck out four and walked two during the five inning outing.
She also hit one of two home runs by the Lady Warriors.
Hers came in the bottom of the first inning, a tworun shot to give Okarche its initial runs of the game.
It was part of a fourrun first that saw Holland Carnott and Chesney Black drive in runs with hits.
Callie Cramer added her long ball in the second inning, a three-run blast that allowed Okarche to build a 7-0 lead.
Cramer later added an RBI sacrifice fly to give her 4 RBIs in the game.
Geheb, and Chloe Rother both had two hits.
Katie Parham was 1 for 3 and scored twice.
The other shutouts in the recent streak were 13-0 against Calumet and 8-0 against Dover.
In the Sept. 5 victory over Calumet, Geheb was nearly flawless in the three-inning run-rule.
She faced nine batters and struck out all nine for a perfect game.
