Dover stayed unbeaten in the Skeltur Conference - and on the season - with a dominant home performance against Garber.

The Longhorns put the clamps on the Wolverines on Tuesday in a 61-26 victory.

That moved Dover to 11-0 overall and 3-0 in the conference.

Garber got half of its points in the fourth quarter. By that time, the Longhorns had racked up a 38-point lead.

Sophomore Daxx Compton paced the scoring attack with 20 points.

He scored 13 in the second quarter when Dover turned an eight-point lead into a 35-9 advantage.

Junior Casen Buck added 17 points. He had 15 by halftime.

Marco Sotelo was the third Longhorn in double figures. He had 8 of his 10 in the second half.

The Longhorns had one final game before the break on Thursday night at Hillsdale Christian (see story in Dec. 24 edition).

Dover entered that game ranked No. 1 in Class B-II.

Lady Wolverines too much for Dover

Another team stayed undefeated in the girls’ game.

Garber moved to 8-0 with its 77-33 victory over the Lady Longhorns in Dover.

The Lady Wolverines are ranked ninth in Class A and were coming off a championship in their own tournament.

They came out of the gates fast with a 20-6 run in the first period. The lead grew to 24 by halftime.

Mandi Bell led Garber with 18 points. Nevah Fincher added 17 with all but 2 coming on 3-pointers.

Dover was led by Alexcea Caldwell’s 14 points.

Remi Goodwin chipped in 8 as Dover fell to 3-8 on the season.
