‘Horns hammer Hillsdale Christian
Dover boys basketball will spend Christmas with an undefeated record.
The Longhorns assured that fact last Thursday with a 77-36 victory over Hillsdale Christian School in Hillsdale.
Already up by eight points after a quarter, the Longhorns exploded for a 33-4 run in the second.
The top-ranked team in Class B-II, Dover is now 12-0 on the season.
This win saw three Longhorns reach double figures.
Two of them were Kyler Williams and Casen Buck, both of whom hit two 3-pointers in the first quarter as Dover got out to a 20-12 lead.
Their scoring continued in the second and they were supplemented by Daxx Compton going off for 12 points in the frame.
Dover continued to extend its lead with an 18-12 advantage in the third quarter to lead 71-28.
Compton led all scorers with 24 points.
Williams eventually made four 3-pointers as part of his 18 points.
Buck finished with 14 points and A.J. Avila added 8.
Dover’s girls were downed 61-34 in their matchup.
Hillsdale Christian is ranked No. 6 in Class B-II.
The loss was Dover’s fifth straight as the Lady Longhorns fell to 3-9.
