Cashion put up its best offensive performance of the season in preparation for the conference tournament.

The Wildcats ran visiting Oklahoma Bible Academy out of the gym Tuesday in a 96-35 victory.

The win was Cashion’s third straight as it improved to 6-3 overall. The Wildcats started play Thursday in the Three Rivers Conference Tournament.

This victory did improve Cashion to 2-0 in the conference’s regular season.

The point total surpassed the 82 Cashion scored in its season opener, a four-point loss to Chisholm.

A lot of damage was done from 3-point range as the Wildcats were 16 of 33 (48 percent).

It started quickly as Cashion outscored the Trojans 30-11 in the first quarter. The lead grew to 54-25 by halftime.

After a “sluggish” third quarter that saw the home team only score 11 points, Cashion closed out with a 31-2 run.

The Wildcats saw 10 different players score, led by Parker Mitchell’s 23.

Kyle Yowell poured in 17.

Both seniors made five 3-pointers each.

Blake Wilburn and Brian Nabavi made three apiece and each scored 9 points.

Cashion also got 14 from King Underwood and 12 from Grayson Little.

Lady Wildcats come alive to win by 20

It took Cashion a bit to get going against Oklahoma Bible Academy on Tuesday.

Once the Lady Wildcats did, they methodically pulled away for a 56-36 win at home.

Cashion moved to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in Three Rivers Conference games.

OBA, the defending Class 2A state champ, led 9-8 after a quarter against Cashion, which is currently ranked 10th in 2A.

The Lady Wildcats claimed a four-point lead by halftime and then dominated the second half.

The visitors had no answer for Brooke Shafer as the junior forward poured in 22 points.

Freshman Tinley Meier added 16 more.
