Trio shines as Jackets shake losing streak
With their leading scorer still out of action, other Jackets are required to pick up the scoring slack.
Most recently it was Michael Easley, Cash Laird and Jackson Willbanks.
Each of that trio scored in double figures Friday as the Jackets snapped a twogame skid with a 65-53 victory over visiting Destiny Christian.
KHS improved to 13-5 with the victory.
Hayes White watched the game in street clothes for the second straight outing.
The senior is out with a concussion suffered in the first quarter of the semifinal their lead to as many as 16. The Wildcats wouldn’t fade away, however. Held scoreless for the first half, Ryker Neisent scored 8 in the third quarter and got his team back within 13. The deficit hovered in that vicinity the rest of the night. Hudson Owens scored 14 to lead the Wildcats while Neisent scored 10. Easley added 7 more points in the fourth to finish with a career-high 25. Laird ended his night with 20, which included 13 in the first half. Both players made three 3-pointers. Willbanks dropped two more field goals in the fourth quarter to wrap up his evening with 12. Croston Martin chipped in 6 and Collin Farrar 2 for the Jackets.

In his absence, his fellow seniors Laird, Easley and Willbanks scored all but 8 of Kingfisher’ points.
They combined for 18 points in the second quarter, which proved to be the decisive stretch in the game.
The Jackets were up a point after a quarter, but outscored the Wildcats 2411 over the next 8 minutes.
Laird drained two 3-pointers and had 9 points.
Willbanks also nailed a trey and scored 5 while Easley chipped in 4.
Easley had 9 at the half, but picked up steam in the second half.
