William ‘Billy’ Gritz

William Joseph “Billy” Gritz was born April 3, 1960, in Kingfisher to Dorothy (Brown) and William F. “Bill” Gritz.

Billy passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, in Enid. He was 65.

Billy grew up in Hennessey and graduated from Hennessey High School in 1978 and was a carpenter.

Billy is survived by two sisters, Sally McCartney and Wilma Bohnstedt and her husband Rick, all of Hennessey, two nephews, five nieces, two great-nieces and 11 great-nephews.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Susan Shaw and Nancy Franklin, brother-in-law Keith McCartney and all four grandparents.

There was a time of gathering and remembering Billy Saturday, March 7.

Cremation arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
