Fred Barker
Fred Henry Barker was born Oct. 4, 1942, to Wesley James and Nellie (Travis) Barker on a farm east of Dover and passed away March 7, 2026, in Kingfisher.
He attended Dover Public School and graduated in 1960.
In 1964, he married Claudette Wakeman and a 62year partnership began.
Fred was a farmer, a carpenter and a craftsman. He retired as internal auditor from Pioneer Telephone in 2008.
He served on the Big Four school Board, the Farmers Co-op Supply board and the Federated Church board.
He is survived by his wife, Claudette; his daughter, Julie and Jerry Hau; son, Eric Barker; grandchildren, Madison and Spencer Staggs, Shane Hau and Fallon Collins, Charlie Barker, Indy Barker and Josie Barker; great-grandsons, Lincoln Staggs and Wesley Staggs; brothers, Coye Barker and Charles Barker; and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nettie June Schaal.

A celebration of life was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, at the Federated Church, Kingfisher, under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
