Clinton ‘Butch’ Bailey
The funeral for Clinton LeRoy “Butch” Bailey, 78, was Monday March 30, 2026, at Dover Christian Church officiated by Jimmy Berkenbile.
Burial followed at Dover Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Clint was born at Hennessey on Oct 12, 1947, to George LeRoy and Lois Aline McVicker Bailey and died Thursday March 26, 2026, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid.
He married Connie Lou Benson in Dover on June 6, 1969. The couple made their home in Dover.
Clint was a member of Dover Christian Church and Coronado Masonic Lodge #56.
He was a retired firefighter after many years with Dover Volunteer Fire Department.
Clint is a past member of the Dover Board of Education and was an honorary member of FFA. He was an avid supporter of students and their show animals in FFA.
Clint was well-known in the area for his expertise in front-end alignment which he did for 47 years.
Clint is survived by his wife Connie of the home; one son, Chris Bailey of Dover; one daughter, Cindy Hunter and husband Shane of Yukon; one grandson – Clint’s pride and joy – Aiden Hunter; one grandchild by love Rilynn Bell; two sisters, Dorothy Iven and husband Marvin of Hennessey and Evelyn Lewis of Pauls Valley; and one sister-in-law, Debbie Benson of Dover.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Mark Nathan Bailey and sisters Ruth Ellen Davis and Judy Elaine Weber.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Dover Christian Church or the Dover Fire Department with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
