Khloe Kastner won three gold medals for Cashion and Scout Snodgrass medaled three times for Kingfisher on a blustery Friday at the Cashion Wildcat Relays.

Kastner anchored two winning relay teams, soared to gold in the long jump and was edged at the finish line in the 200 meter dash as the sophomore led Cashion to a fifth-place finish.

Snodgrass, meanwhile, was the anchor leg of a pair of silver medal relays and won the 400 meter dash as the Lady Jackets were the runners-up in a packed field.

KHS scored 69 points, second only to Stroud’s 72.

Cashion managed 58 points.

There were 25 girls teams that scored at least one point in the meet.

Casady won the boys’ crown with 92 points, easily out-distancing runner-up Southwest Covenant’s 67.

There were 23 boys teams to score at least one point.

The meet was moved up just over an hour to beat forecasted storms and officials were only outdone by the likes of Kastner and Snodgrass in their speed to finish the meet.

Kastner ran down North Rock Creek’s anchor leg in the 400 meter relay, the day’s first track event, as Cashion won the race in 51.31.

She was joined by Emerie Eubanks, Kate Nabavi and Reese Hobgood.

That quartet returned to also win the 800 meter relay with a time of 1:49.27.

That also edged North Rock Creek, which was just .06 behind.

The only race Kastner didn’t win was the 200.

ShewasedgedbyStroud’s Peyton Davis, which happened to be the same finish as last year’s Class 2A state track meet finals in that event.

Davis, a senior, crossed in 25.71 at Cashion while Kastner finished in 25.85.

In the morning’s first field event, Kastner claimed the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 4 inches. She is the reigning 2A champ in that event.

For Kingfisher, the points got started in the 3,200 meter relay when Ryann Farrar, Harper Evans and Mattie Slezickey teamed up with Snodgrass to place second in 10:23.27, which was about 16 seconds faster than Kingfisher’s time in that event at the Fairview meet.

Evans later claimed the bronze in the 3,200 meter run, giving her two medals at the meet.

After that, Snodgrass bested Tonkawa’s Emmersyn Randall to win the 400.

Snodgrass crossed in 59.93 seconds while Ran-dall did so in 1:00.55.

Snodgrass’ third medal came in the last event of the day when she nearly ran down North Rock Creek’s anchor leg.

NRC won the mile relay in 4:08.73 while KHS was second in 4:09.41.

The other gold won by a county athlete came from Dover’s Kylee Bell in the pole vault.

The reigning Class A champ in the event cleared 10-6, a foot higher than second-place Essie Boschee of Perry.

Other medalists included Ela Hartman of Kingfisher and Kinsley Fisher of Lomega.

Hartman took third in the long jump with a best leap of 16-11 3/4 and she also tied for third in the high jump by clearing 4-10.

Fisher was the runner-up in the discus with a throw of 112-8.

Lomega and Dover tied for 17th in the team standings with 10 points each.

Cashion was the only boys team from the county to notch points.

The Wildcats were 12th with 18.

Grayson Davis medaled in the 100 by taking third in 11.34 seconds.

The boys 100 featured 101 entries and 13 different heats.

The girls 100 had more than 90 entries and 12 heats.

Davis was also part of the fourth-place mile relay team as he was joined by Cole Baustert, Parker Mitchell and Hank Brown.

Overall, there were 35 schools represented at the meet and 1,600 individual entries.
