Coye Lee Altizer, 57, of Kingfisher, passed away on April 26, 2026.

He was born Feb. 6, 1969, in El Paso, Texas, to Charles and Judy (Morgan) Altizer.

Coye was a man who truly enjoyed life and the people in it. He loved spending time with his family and treasured every moment shared with those closest to him.

He found joy in woodworking and had a talent for creating and building with his hands. Music, fishing, road trips and cruises were among the many things that brought him happiness.

He embraced semi-retirement with enthusiasm and looked forward to life’s next adventures. One of his greatest joys was the excitement of becoming “Poppy” and welcoming the role of grandfather.

Coye was known for his playful spirit, quick wit and love of practical jokes. He never missed an opportunity to stir the pot just enough to keep those around him smiling and on their toes.

His daughters will fondly remember that he always maintained a firm “no return” policy on them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. (Chuck) and Judy M. Altizer; brother, Terry Hyman; and mother-in-law, Hazel Morris.

He will be remembered for his humor, generous heart, willingness to help others and the love he had for his family and friends.

His memory will be cherished by all who knew him especially all the family he leaves behind including his wife of 37 years, Kathy Altizer; children Kassie (Jerry Wayne) Robbins, Judy (Brent) Jay and Emily “Doodle” Dale Altizer; expected grandson No. 1, Devin Lee Jay; cherished “mother” figure, Maria (Mike) Johnson; sister-in-law, Lena Morris (Brad Porter); father-inlaw, Howard (Lela) Morris; brothers, David Hirschler and family, Kevin Hirschler and family and Skip Hyman and Scott Sauls.

A memorial service for Coye was 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at Scissortail Crossing Event Venue, 201 E. Will Rogers, Kingfisher, under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.

In keeping with Coye’s spirit, the family requests “cruise casual” clothing to celebrate his life.
