Kingfisher County runners finished 1-2 in last Saturday’s boys race of the Tonkawa Cross Country Invitational.

Cashion’s Cole Buastert placed first and Lomega’s Hunter Russell second in the 5,000 meter race.

Baustert finished the course in 18:25.2 while Russell was just behind him in 18:30.5.

Each had a teammate finish in the top 10.

Traevon Smith-Dunn of Lomega placed seventh in 18:56.7 while Cahin’s Judson Graham was ninth in 18:58.2.

However, a timing glitch didn’t list the runners who placed 29th through 75th in the race, so complete results weren’t known.

Also running for the Raiders were Breckon Murray, Cal Krittenbrink, Uriel Giacomelli, Tayton Sigl and Cody Yost.

The girls race didn’t have the same glitch.

Cashion’s Hattie Wood placed fourth as she finished the 3,200 meters in 15:27.8.

The freshman has medaled in every race this year.

On her heels was Lomega’s Gracie Sawyer, who was fifth out of 58 individuals in 15:32.5.

Wood’s teammate Lyla Sloan was eighth in 16:08.5.

Claire Myers of Lomega was two spots behind Sloan in 16:18.8.

Lomega finished third as a team behind Oklahoma Union and Alva.

Olivian Landreth placed 22nd, Josey Nusz 23rd, Jackie Peñaran was 37th, Grace Myers 50th and Addison Freelander 54th.
