Dover’s Kylee Bell gets the chance to defend her Class A state championship in the pole vault.

She’ll also get the opportunity to add to her list of accomplishments in the high jump.

She’ll be heading to state in both as the regional champ.

Bell was the winner of both the pole vault and high jump Saturday at the Class A regional track and field meet at Alex.

The senior cleared 11 feet in the pole vault, winning the event by 2 1/2 feet.

Bell is the reigning state champ in the event.

She also claimed gold in the high jump as she cleared 4-10.

That makes Bell a twotime state qualifier in that event. She finished 13th at state a year ago.

Bell has qualified for state in seven different events during her track and field career.

As a freshman at Crescent in 2023, she was a part of the Class 2A state runner- up 800 relay team and was fourth in the pole vault. She also qualified in the 1,600 relay and long jump.

At Dover as a sophomore in 2024, she was the Class A state runner-up in the pole vault and was a part of the silver medal 800 relay team and third-place 400 relay team while also qualifying in the long jump.

Bell captured her first career gold a year ago in winning the Class A pole vault.

She was also fifth in the 300 meter hurdles while qualifying for the high jump.

Her 20 points Saturday tied Dover for 12th as a team.

Nick Spradlin notched a point for the Dover boys.

The freshman placed sixth in the two-mile run with his time of 12:11.15.
