Hansen, Nusz help lead Lomega to 5th place
Lomega medaled in eight different events to secure its best-ever finish at the Class A state track and field meet.
TheLadyRaidersnotched 48 points to finish fifth in the team standings, the highest ever.
That wasn’t all the history made.
Isabel Hansen became just the second Lomega female athlete to haul in four medals at one state meet.
Hansen did it by placing third in the 800 and 1,600 meter runs and was part of the mile relay team that took sixth and two-mile relay team that placed fourth at Western Heights High School.
Hansen joins Brooke (Edsall) Graddy as the only Lady Raiders to garner four medals at one state meet.
Joining Hansen in the mile relay were Josey Nusz, Joann Bilger and Gracie Sawyer.
They became the first Lomega mile relay team to ever medal and their 4:18.31 broke the school record.
It was one of three records set by Nusz at the state meet.
She was fifth in the 100 with a time of 12.64. Her finish of 26.09 in the 200 was good for fourth. Both are new Lomega records.
The two-mile relay team in addition to Hansen were Sawyer, Bilger and Claire Myers. They finished in 10:31.99.
Sawyer was also eighth in the 800.
Kinsley Fisher brought home a pair of medals in the field.
On Friday, she hurled the discus 130 feet, 7 inches, good for a bronze medal.
She came back Saturday to take fifth in the shot put with a heave of 35-3.
The Southwestern Oklahoma State signee is the school record holder in both events.
