Lomega’s Lawson, Snowden earn more postseason honors
Two players who recently played major roles in Lomega’s 17th state championship have garnered more postseason honors.
Senior Aliana Lawson was selected to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team.
Players first have to be selected to the OCA’s allstar team for their respective class team to be eligible for the all-state honor.
Lawson is part of the Small West squad, which includes just 10 players from Classes 3A down to B-II. Teammates Hadley Ott and Paige Wheeler were named B-II all-stars.
The OCA All-State basketball games will be played in late July at Hamilton Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.
Lawson averaged 10.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.5 steals a game during her senior campaign as Lomega rolled to a 30-1 record and the B-II title.
She was recently named to the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-State team as well and those games will be played in June.
Reagan Snowden racked up her second player of the year honor.
The sophomore was recently named the All-Northwest Oklahoma Player of the Year, an honor voted on by coaches in the area and published by the Enid News & Eagle.
Snowden was previously named the MVP of the Cherokee Strip Conference.
She was Lomega’s leading scorer and rebounder on the season as she racked up 18.6 points and 8.8 boards a contest.
Snowden also added 3.1 steals while she shot 54 percent from the field.
