If not for Bly Frieouf, Keon Lackey would have won all three of his cross country races in 2026.

By the same token, if not for Weatherford, the Dover High School boys would have two team titles this season.

Frieouf made it 2 for 2 on Saturday as he won individual gold at the Watonga Cross Country Invitational.

The Dover senior ran the sandy, hilly, winding 4,000 meter course in 13:16.07, more than 14 seconds faster than Lackey, a junior from Weatherford.

Two weeks ago in Kingfi sher, Frieouf bested Lackey to win that meet.

Dover was off last weekend when Lackey won his home meet.

In each of those meets, 4A Weatherford won the team championship and the Eagles made it three in a row in Watonga.

With all five scorers placing in the top 10, Weatherford notched only 30 points.

That was 20 points better than the runner-up Longhorns, who beat the likes of Oklahoma Bible Academy (69) and Hooker (93). Dover was also second to Weatherford at the Kingfi sher meet.

After Frieouf, three Weatherford runners were able to cross the finish line before the next Dover competitor.

That turned out to be Reid Frieouf, who was ninth overall out of 97 runners. The freshman was seventh among runners who scored points for their team and finished in 15:02.31.

Another freshman, Brady Reese, was 11th in 15:11.33. He was ninth in scoring.

Nick Spradlin was 16th (14th) in 15:25.44 and Brok Cooper 21st (19th) in 15:36.02.

Dover’s Kyler Williams placed 24th and also earned a medal, which went to the top 30 placers.

Cashion had a pair of medalists in the race.

Senior Cole Baustert palced seventh with his time of 14:46.62.

Teammate Judson Graham was 25th in 15:55.49.

The top two placers for the KHS boys were Chance Dunn and Kurttis Mark.

Dunn placed 38th out of 97 runners and completed the 4,000 meter course in 16:37.36.

Mark was one spot behind him.

Dover’s Spradlin wins JH race

Also for the second time this season, Dover swept the boys races.

Longhorn eighth grader Hunter Spradlin won gold in the junior high race.

He was also the champ at the Kingfisher meet.

Spradlin completed the 2,500 meter course in 8:57.37, which was 15 seconds ahead of the runner- up.

Cashion’s Brantley Coleman was a medalist for the junior high boys as he placed 21st.

Kingfisher’s Shecotah Burpo was two spots behind Coleman as he picked up a medal as well.

There were 93 runners in the junior high boys race.

Burpo finished in 10:57.50.
