Roof leads Jackets at Hefner
Freshman River Roof paced the Kingfisher High School boys at the OCA Eagle Invitational last Friday.
Roof shot a 5-over-par 77 to tie for seventh place out of 90 golfers in the tournament held at Lake Hefner Golf Club in Oklahoma City.
Roof had seven bogeys and a double-bogey on his card, but countered them with four birdies. He had three of those birdies on the back-nine.
He helped Kingfisher to a fifth place finish as a team as the Jackets shot 317, which was just four strokes behind second-place Hobart.
Oklahoma Christian Academy won the tournament with a 303, followed by Hobart.
Lincoln Christian was third with a 314 and Regent Prep fourth at 315.
Cashion placed 10th with 349.
There were 16 full teams in the field.
Luciano Orozco was right behind Roof with a 78, which tied him for 12th.
Cale Reagan shot an 80, Hayes White an 82 and Hagen Owens an 89.
Cashion was led by Asher Howell’s 83 while Gavin Layton fired an 86.
The Wildcats also saw Maddox Gibson and Connor Poe each shoot a 90 while Kamden Goff fired a 99.
