The Kingfisher boys soccer team picked up another big win on Tuesday.

The Jackets downed ASTEC Charter 4-1 in Oklahoma City in a District 3A-2 matchup.

The win improved KHS to 5-2 in the district and secured third place in the district. The Jackets wrapped up their regular season Friday against Dove Science- OKC on Friday after press time.

Eduardo De La Torre recorded a hat trick and R.J. McCarty added the Jackets’ other goal.

Elijah Click recorded seven saves.

The Jackets are 8-6 overall entering Friday and have won five of their last six.

They’ll be on the road for the first round of the playoffs against the winner of Friday night’s game between Christian Heritage and Oklahoma Christian School.

The winner of that matchup will take second place in District 3A-1.

The Lady Jackets got their third straight mercy rule victory as they downed ASTEC 10-0.

Yesenia Rivera netted four goals to lead the way while Maya Haney scored two.

That moved KHS to 7-5 overall and 3-2 in District 3A-2.

They’ll finish third with a win at Millwood on Friday (after press time of this edition).

That also puts the Lady Jackets on the road for the first round of the playoffs, likely at Christian Heritage Academy provided it beat Cushing on Friday night.
