Lomega captured gold in five different events and medaled in several others Saturday to win the girls Class A regional track and field championship held at Alex.

Isabel Hansen was responsible - at least in part - for four of those gold medal events and punched her ticket to this weekend’s state meet in four events.

Hansen won both the 800 and 1,600 meter runs as an individual.

She was also a part of the winning 3,200 and 1,600 meter relay teams.

Teammates on the long relay were Gracie Sawyer, Claire Myers and Joann Bilger.

The mile relay team also consisted of Sawyer, Bilger and Josey Nusz.

The latter had herself a day as well.

Nusz was the regional champ in the 200 and took third in the 100 meter dash, making herself a threeevent automatic qualifier.

Sawyer was right there with Nusz in qualifying for three events.

She finished just behind Hansen in the 800 and was the silver medalist on top of being on the two relay teams that won.

While those ladies were taking care of running, Kinsley Fisher was handling the throwing.

The senior set two PRs and won a pair of medals in her two events.

The first was the discus, which the Lady Raider hurled 134 feet, 6 inches.

That was good enough to capture gold.

The afternoon saw Fisher head to the shot put.

Her best throw - 36-10 1/2 - was not only the best of her career, but one that earned a silver medal.

All told, Lomega scored 106 points to easily distance itself from runner-up Cyril’s 83.

The Lomega boys managed 18 points, tying them for 11th.

Hunter Russell automatically qualified in two events as he was third in both the mile and two-mile runs.
