Top-ranked Okarche took care of business.

The Warriors pounced on Ripley early and rode the momentum to an 11-0 run-rule win in the Class A-I state baseball quarterfinals at Shawnee High School.

The win advanced Okarche to Friday’s semifinal against Amber-Pocasset (after press time of this edition).

Am-Po, ranked fourth, took care of No. 5 Caddo 6-2 in their quarterfinal game.

Okarche collected four hits - three of them extra bases - and scored four runs in the top of the first inning.

That included an RBI double by Brett Carnott, RBI triple by Colin Hendrickson and an RBI double by Jett Mueggenborg.

Ripley never recovered. Luke Hill limited the eighth-ranked Warriors to three hits and struck out nine over his five innings of work.

Okarche added six more runs in the second inning as Hendrickson belted a tworun double to go with RBIs off the bats of Carnott, Jake Henderson, Mueggenborg and Sam Kroener.

Mueggenborg finished 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs and a pair of runs scored.

Hendrickson was 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

Carnott drove in two and scored twice while Hill also produced two runs.

Okarche, which won the program’s first ever baseball title in the fall, entered the semis with a 21-5 record.
