The Okarche train continues to pick up steam.The Warriors won their 11th straight game on Tuesday by downing Crescent 95-50 in a Three Rivers Conference home game.In those 11 wins, the Warriors have averaged 83.8 points and haven’t scored less than 72 in any game.

Five football players from Kingfisher County are considered among the best in their respective classes.The Oklahoma Coaches Association last week announced its all-stars for each classification.Named to the west squad in Class A was Cashion’s Tommy Branson.

Kingfisher’s bid to advance to dual state fell short on Thursday.The Yellowjackets were 2-2 in the District 4A-2 duals held at Harrah High School.They defeated Tecumseh 51-24 and Perkins-Tryon 67-12.Losses came at the hands of Harrah by a 5224 margin and then 78-4 to Cushing.

Kingfisher wrestlers return home Tuesday to host Perry in what is now going to be homecoming. It will be held at the Heritage School gym.Homecoming was originally scheduled for Feb. 6 when KHS will host Woodward. That’s also the same night basketball has scheduled its homecoming.

Karlee Harviston picked up in Okeene where she left off in Enid.The Dover senior scored 28 points Tuesday in a 6524 road rout of Okeene.The outburst came just three days after she poured in 32 points in her team’s victory over Garber in the Skeltur Conference Tournament.

Hennessey’s defense frustrated Cashion for much of the game.Cashion’s defense sealed the win in the fourth quarter.The visiting Lady Wildcats outscored Hennessey 12-2 in the fourth quarter to pull out a hard-fought 38-28 victory and avoid the upset.

Donald Ray Yost, 82, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, at his home. He was born Oct. 4, 1941, in Kingfisher. He was the son of Allen and Myrl (Robinett) Yost. Donald attended Kingfi sher Public Schools and graduated from Kingfisher High School.
