Father’s Day was a long one for some Kingfisher softball players and their families…but it became one to celebrate. Kingfisher won the Babe Ruth Softball League’s 14-under state championship with four straight elimination wins.

Kingfisher’s Ally Stephenson was one of several local athletes recently named to the Little All-City track and field team for 2022.Little All-City is comprised of Class 4A and below in the counties surrounding Oklahoma City.

The whirlwind month of allstar games continued last weekend for Cashion High School classmates, teammates and cousins Vance Raney, left, and Jonah Jenkins. The duo most recently competed last Saturday in the Oklahoma Native All-State Association’s boys basketball games.

A safety was the difference last Saturday night as the West toppled the East 15-14 in the Classic Bowl XXXIV football game in Woodward.The game was the cul mination of a week of events held annually to celebrate student-athletes from Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas.

Chase Davis and Vance Raney picked up in June where they left off in March.The two Kingfisher County players led their respective teams in scoring - and picked up some hardware - during Game 1 of the Classic Bowl basketball games in Woodward last week.

Cashion High School’s cheerleaders attended the Jeff & Craig Camp held May 24-26 in Norman. The squad won the “Dynamite Stick” all three days and also hauled in Showmanship, Superior Stunts, Dynamic Dance and the Champions Cup.

Her first collegiate season is in the books.And like so many other seasons throughout her career, it was full of successes for Maddi Kamas.Oklahoma City University finished as national runner-up last week in the NAIA women’s golf championships at Lincoln Park Golf Course.

The best long jump in the state by a female in 2022 already belonged to Kinidi Taylor.On Tuesday, the Crescent High School junior one-upped herself.Taylor leapt 19 feet, 4 3/4 inches to win the event at the Meet of Champions held on the campus of Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee.
