The best long jump in the state by a female in 2022 already belonged to Kinidi Taylor.On Tuesday, the Crescent High School junior one-upped herself.Taylor leapt 19 feet, 4 3/4 inches to win the event at the Meet of Champions held on the campus of Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee.

CRIMSON STORM BOUND – Kingfisher High School senior Maximus Washington, seated center, signs his letter of intent to join the Southern Nazarene University track and field program. The signing ceremony was held last Monday in the lobby of the All-Purpose Building at KHS.

Sluggish opening and closing rounds saw the Cashion boys golf team take fourth place at the Class 2A state tournament.The Wildcat contingent shot an opening-round 355 Monday at the Buffalo Rock Golf Course in Cushing.

Kingfisher shot progressively better throughout each round to finish fifth in last week’s Class 4A boys state golf tournament.The Jackets had rounds of 335 and 333 during a 36-hole marathon on Monday at Boiling Springs Golf Course in Woodward.They came back Tuesday to fire a 327.
