KINGFISHER HIGH SCHOOL’S basketball homecoming game was canceled earlier this season so the school provided a brief crowning ceremony recently after the teams’ district games with Elk City. Crowned 2020-21 KHS basketball homecoming queen was senior Britt Taylor.

Few teams can match the athleticism of the Kingfisher Lady Jackets. Weatherford is one of them. The fourth-ranked Lady Eagles held KHS to its second-lowest scoring total of the season to claim a 45-30 victory Saturday in their Class 4A regional championship game at the APB.

Okarche held Woodland to its third-lowest scoring total of the season. And it has the Lady Warriors within one win of the state tournament. Okarche forced 21 turnovers and didn’t allow a fourth-quarter field goal Tuesday as it defeated Woodland 45-34 in their Class A regional championship.

There’s just something about that regional final. Class B’s No. 1-ranked Lomega won its regional championship against Webbers Falls as expected on Tuesday. But it wasn’t as easy as most expected. The Lady Raiders were held to their lowest point total of the season in a 46-32 victory at Agra.
