Based on scores and amount of time played each night, Cashion’s weekend went from toughest to easiest. But there was nothing easy about it. The Wildcats wrapped up their third win in as many nights Saturday when they thwarted Class A No. 17 Thomas, 66-55 at home.

Dover’s boys got back on the winning track and evened their season record in one night. The Longhorns played the fifth game in a week and fourth in five days, but had no trouble disposing of Geary in a 64-27 road win on Monday.

A third-quarter surge Tuesday helped Hennessey stave off upset-minded Watonga. The Eagles overcame an eight-point halftime deficit to pull off a 47-41 Three Rivers Conference home win. Watonga held its host to three second-quarter points and led 23-15.

Landry Allen didn’t disappoint and that spelled trouble for Kingfisher. Tuttle’s highly-sought-after post player recorded a triple-double for the second year in a row against KHS, this time on her home court as the Lady Tigers dominated a top-eight matchup, 52-27.

Despite a few lapses, the Kingfisher boys basketball team was never seriously challenged Tuesday in a showdown with another Class 4A contender. The top-ranked Jackets used their defense and tempo to thwart No. 5 Tuttle’s size advantage in a 63-46 victory.

No. 1 went down Tuesday, but could get its rematch this week. Cashion went on the road Thursday and shocked Class 2A’s top-ranked Dale in a 60-59 double-overtime thriller. Jonah Jenkins made 5 of 6 free throws in the final minute to help the fifthranked Wildcats preserve the lead.

Kingfisher had one near-miraculous comeback in its arsenal. It didn’t have two. The Lady Jackets settled for second place at the Wheat Capital Tournament for the second year in a row as they were downed 5341 by Perry in the championship game.

Hardware. The Dover girls basketball team hasn’t brought home many trophies from tournaments the last several years, but it wasn’t the case last weekend. Dover downed Pioneer-Pleasant Vale 51-37 Saturday to win the consolation championship of the Okeene Invitational Tournament.

Lomega’s Noah Snowden and Hammon’s Michael Land ventured into a great scoring battle last weekend. But Snowden was surrounded by a better cast and the Raiders made themselves Warrior Classic champs with a 55-51 victory over the host team in the finals.
