Kingfisher’s bid to return to the state tournament in golf fell short Wednesday…by five strokes.The Yellowjackets shot a 328 at Kingfisher Golf Course, good for fourth place in their Class 4A regional.Only the top three teams advance to state from each of the regionals.

A strong second-half surge by Crossings Christian School put an end to Kingfisher’s soccer season.The host Lady Knights scored three straight goals in the second half to break open a tie game en route to a 6-4 victory in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs.

Kylee Bell set a PR and won a regional championship in the process.The Dover sophomore cleared 10 feet, 6 inches Monday to win the pole vault competition at the Class A regional track and field meet at Alex.

Lomega’s girls finished their Class A regional track and field meet with some silver...and a school record.The quartet of Paige Wheeler, Monse Rivera, Isabel Hansen and Kate Myers took second place Monday in the 1,600 meter relay at Cherokee.Their time of 4:24.

A 22-year-old school record fell Monday morning when Scout Snodgrass crossed the finish line of the 3,200 meter relay.Snodgrass ran the anchor leg for Kingfisher High School in that event during the Class 4A regional track and field meet at Moore.

Kingfisher’s Raegan Snider shot an 88 and Kylie Hood an 89 Monday in the first round of the Class 4A state golf tournament at Winter Creek Golf & Country Club in Blanchard.Snider sat in 14th place and Hood in 15th out of 76 individual golfers.

Camdyn Richardson medaled in four different events Monday to lead the Hennessey boys to a strong showing at the Class 2A regional track and field meet at Okemah.Richardson was one of several Eagles to qualify in multiple events.

Okarche’s basketball team is making its final drive to help purchase state championship rings.The Warriors won the Class A championship in March, the program’s first since 1979.The team is hosting a “Rally for Rings” this Sunday, May 5, in the high school gym parking lot.

Top-seeded Tuttle knocked off Kingfisher 10-1 Friday on the Tigers’ home field to claim a Class 4A regional championship.However, the Jackets earlier in the day were able to exact a bit of revenge before their season came to an end.
