Kylee Bell set a PR and won a regional championship in the process.

The Dover sophomore cleared 10 feet, 6 inches Monday to win the pole vault competition at the Class A regional track and field meet at Alex.

She was one of a handful of Dover athletes who automatically qualified for state in multiple events.

Among them were Katelyn Harviston and Karlee Harviston.

Karlee was the regional runner-up in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.45.

Katelyn was third in the 200 meter dash, finishing in 27.27, just one spot ahead of her sister.

Katelyn also was the regional runner-up in the high jump.

The 800 relay team of Bell, both Harvistons and Ashley Gamez finished second behind Cyril and also automatically qualifi ed.

Meanwhile the 400 relay team consisting of those four was fourth.

Bell added to her day by taking fifth place in the long jump.

The top three placers in each event automatically qualify for state, which is Friday and Saturday at Western Heights High School.

The next six best times, distances or heights from all the combined regionals will also advance as additional qualifiers. The official list of additional qualifiers had not been released at press time.

As a team, Dover took fourth place with 62 points, just four points behind third-place Tipton.

Cyril won the meet with 130 while Ringling was second with 76.
