As I begin my journey representing House District 59 at the state Capitol, I would like to acknowledge the outstanding and tireless efforts of Representative Mike Sanders for the last 12 years. He has set a very high standard of service that I intend to maintain in the months and years to come.

Pioneer scales back security line of business

Pioneer Security announced last week it will continue operations to all existing customers of monitored alarm systems and med-alert systems. However, due to the changing market conditions, Pioneer will no longer sell new systems to its customers.

Record-setting donations to KEF fund $30,000 in teacher initiatives

Thanks to record-setting generosity of its donors, Kingfisher Educational Foundation just funded $30,000 in teacher grants for new classroom enrichment programs for Kingfisher schools. The school itself was able to fund another $14,624.94 in teacher requests for proand materials.

Wesley Dwight Caldwell

Wesley Dwight Caldwell was born on April 11, 1953, to Guster “Gus” and Katherine Caldwell. He was raised on the family farm and attended Dover School. Following the passing of his parents, he moved to California to live with his sister Hazel Williams and graduated high school in California.

Mary Dalrymple

Mary Louise Dalrymple, 98, passed away Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, at Cimarron Nursing Center in Kingfisher. Mary was born in Sallisaw on Sept. 23, 1922, to Walter and Rose Goodwin. She graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1940. She joined the U.S. Navy and earned a bachelor’s degree.
