Crescent 1st, Cashion 3rd at Game Day state

One-third of the finals field in the OSSAA Class 2A Game Day state championships consisted of local teams. When the final standings were announced, Crescent was a first-time state champ and Cashion had finished third in the competition last Saturday at Moore High School.

The strides the Kingfisher High School cheer squad has made can not only be measured this year, but in the last week alone. KHS finished fourth last Saturday at the OSSAA’s Class 4A Game Day state championships at Moore High School.

Ponies too much for Eagles in 60-26 playoff win

A bit of Hennessey’s football present combined with the future last Friday night. And although the Eagles’ season came to an end, they didn’t exactly go quietly and also shed a positive light on what’s still to come.

Longhorns split with `Dogs in home opener

Drummond had no answer for Joriaun Caldwell and that helped Dover get over .500 on the season. The Longhorns delivered a 54-40 victory over the Bulldogs in their home opener. Caldwell scored 34 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter as the Longhorns quelled any thoughts of a Drummond comeback.

Reydon Walker has caught up with her brother. She’s still got some work to do to catch Grandpa. But she’s also got time. The Crescent cheerleading squad made history last Saturday when it captured the OSSAA’s Class 2A Game Day state championship at Moore High School.

Tower not cleared tor takeoff

City Commission recently denied an AT&T request to build a cell phone transmission tower at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds during its November meeting.
