Raney, a senior and a Cashion High School alumnus, maintained a 3.550 grade-point average while pursuing a master’s degree in health care practice management. He has since entered medical school at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. To be deemed eligible for the award, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average while appearing on the eligibility certificate for an NAIA-recognized sport. The student-athlete must also be at least a junior by academic standing and have completed a minimum of two full years at the nominating institution or one full year as a collegiate transfer.
