An ADA power lift, and a “mother’s bench” in the water are just a couple of features of Hennessey’s new $2.1 million pool that opens with a ribbon-cutting at noon Monday, said Tiffany Tillman, town administrator. The 100-by-200 foot pool has a 6,100-foot deck and a 1,660 square-foot bathhouse.

Hennessey board cuts public works director’s job

Hennessey’s town board voted 4-1 to immediately “terminate the job position of public works director” Thursday night after a 45-minute executive session. That action left Curtis Turner without a job. “So this is it? Not even any severance pay after almost 15 years?” a visibly upset Turner asked.

Hennessey school board members got an earful last Monday night from one of the district’s coaches about inequity in extra-duty pay. Audience members also heard the complaints due to an agenda hiccup that caused discussion and action on all personnel matters in open session.
