Cortes is OBCA Region 1 POY

Bijan Cortes has nabbed one of the biggest honors an underclassman can earn in Oklahoma high school basketball. The Kingfisher High School junior was voted as the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association District Player of the Year for Region 1.

OCA names Riley Myers region’s top male athlete

The Oklahoma Coaches Association recently announced a laundry list of regional awards and Kingfisher County hauled in its share from athletes to coaches. Kingfisher High School senior Riley Myers was named the Region 1 Male Athlete of the Year.

There are a number of basketball honors to still be awarded for the 2019-20 season. The Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association and Oklahoma Coaches Association will announce their respective all-state teams. The OCA will also release its all-stars for each class.

It’s important to complete census forms

With all of the focus on COVID-19 right now and the disruptions to normal life, it’s easy to overlook other matters. But one item of extreme importance is making sure each resident in our House district completes this year’s Census form. Having an accurate count helps us in many ways.
