Town of Hennessey meeting changed

Hennessey Mayor Randy Bohnstedt has changed this month’s board meeting date from Tuesday, June 2, to Thursday, June12.The Town Hall meeting time is still 6 p.m.

Commissioners quickly work through short county agenda

The Kingfisher County Courthouse south side parking area was roped off for construction work Monday.The City of Kingfisher is upgrading electrical service to the courthouse.Commissioners approved the upgrade earlier in the year to accommodate increased computer equipment in county offices.

Hennessey HS honor rolls listed

Hennessey High School announced its honor rolls for the second semester of 2024-25.Students named to the Superintendent’s Honor Roll received all A’s for the semester.Those listed on the Principal’s Honor Roll received no grade lower than a B during the term.

Harvest

All of this rain we’ve had has me thinking about the wheat harvest.Is it still the same as it was in the 1970s and 80s when high school and college-age farm kids knew they’d be home at harvest to help their dad, grandpa or uncle at harvest?
